Windows Media can't burn without gaps according to its Help system.

iTunes is good at burning, changing metadata and conversion -- even if you use WMP or VLC to play.

I use cdburner.xp for that very reason.
I could not eliminate the gaps with media player. Someonr here suggested cdburner.xp....it was a free download and it works well for me. pretty easy to understand. Also has a feature for creating basic cd covers for your disks.

If you decide to go with this program, just choose the gapless option when burning the tracks to discs.
